~Advanced Black Belt Teaching Method "Practicums"
are required in the following classes equalling a total
of 5 sessions or 40 classes under the direction of a Karate
n Motion Master Instructor or "Shihan":

promotions are not automatic, and they are not guarenteed
upon completion of stated course requirements. A black belt
masters trac student must test and apply their knowledge
and mastery of all skills including those skills related
to the Art of Teaching in the Karate N Motion tradition.
Karate 1st-3rd degree black belts will be responsible for
the explantion (teaching) and technical performance of the
following:
A. Lead leg kick theory.
1. Lead Leg Kicks incl: Front, Round, Side, Hook, Whip and
Chrushing Heel Kicks
2. Lead Leg Movement - Side Steps, Step Aways, Step Backs,
Cheat Step Strategies and more.
3. Stances and their strategic importance in Lead Leg Offensive
and Defensive attacks.
4. Timing, Distance, and Balance strategies as relates to
Lead Leg tactics
5. The Lead Leg as a Defensive Weapon
6. Defenses Against the Lead Leg Attack
Lead Leg "Theory" Study will be a component of
Wednesday Adults 6:30 karate class and Thursday Youth 6:30
class time. Theory study is considered to be separate from
"lab" or competition study time.
B. Radar
(defensive block and pop) theory.
Black Belts are required to appreciate and be able to teach
the following:
1. The Basic Principles of Radar Theory - a study in the
Attitude and Intent of Radar
2. A Black Belt Awareness of Timing, Distance and Balance
in Radar
3. Tactical Stances and Movement study in "Radar"
applications
"Radar Takes Theory" will be a component
of Monday Adults 6:30 Int/Adv Karate class and Wednesday
Youth 5:30 "All About Hands;" and Thursday Youth
"Sparring Tips For Champions" - 6:30 class. Theory
study is considered to be separate from "lab"
or competition study time.
C.
Principles of movement
Black Belts are required to have a working awarness/knowledge
of, and be able to teach the following:
1. Cheat Step
2. Step Behind
3. Fast Step
4. Skip
5. Hesitation
6. Swivel Step
7. Extension (s)
8. Kangaroo Style
9. Switch Stance Timing
10. Blitz Technique; and Dip and Go
11. Changing the Line
12. Upper body fakes, feignts and flinches
"Movement Theory" will be a component
of Monday Adults 6:30 Int/Adv Karate class; Wednesday Adults
6:30 "Adv Karate Black Belt Curriculum " Class;
and Tuesday Youth 6:30 "All About Kicks" class;
Wednesday Youth 5:30 "All About Hands;" and Thursday
Youth "Sparring Tips For Champions" - 6:30 class.
Theory study is considered to be separate from "lab"
or competition study time.
IMPORTANT: Movement study is best mastered when
practicing the Art of Teaching to others. Therefore, as
part of the Black Belt Curriculum candidates on the Master's
Trac will be required to instruct Under Black Belts in the
application of the above Principles of Movement. Class Requirements
can (and are expected whereever possible), to be fulfilled
by teaching.
D. Timing, Distance
& Balance Theory
Black Belts are required to have a working awarness/knowledge
of, and be able to teach the following:
1. Timing Studies
2. Distance Studies
3. Balance Studies
"Timing, Distance, and Balance Theory" will be
a component of Monday Adults 6:30 Int/Adv Karate class;
Wednesday Adults 6:30 "Adv Karate Black Belt Curriculum
" Class; and Tuesday Youth 6:30 "All About Kicks"
class; Wednesday Youth 5:30 "All About Hands;"
Thursday Youth "Sparring Tips For Champions" 6:30
class and Saturday Advanced Sparring for Youth at 12:30.
The application of any technique is naturally related to
an accompanying use of timing, distance and balance. Consequently,
at least one class of each skill - timing, distance, &
balance, will need to be a discussion. Thereafter an awareness
of the applicable skill may be incorporated into the regular
class repetitions. Timing, Distance, and Balance study is
considered to be very much a part of regular "repetitions
of techniques" plus as part n' parcel of "lab"
or competition study time.
IMPORTANT: As part of the Black Belt Curriculum
candidates on the Master's Trac will be required to instruct
Under Black Belts in the application of the above Principles
of TIMING, DISTANCE AND BLANCE. Class Requirements can (and
are expected where ever possible), to be fulfilled by teaching.
E.
Study of Combination Tactics
Black Belts are required to have a working awarness/knowledge
of, and be able to teach the following:
1. High Low Combinations
2. Straight Line/Circle Line Combinations
3. One Beat Timing - in Combination
4. Center Attack Combinations
5. Classic Combinations from various Stances
6. Hand Combinations including all boxing and back hand
tactics
"Combination Tactics" will be a component
of Monday Adults 6:30 Int/Adv Karate class; Wednesday Adults
6:30 "Adv Karate Black Belt Curriculum " Class;
Tuesday Youth 6:30 "All About Hands" class; Wednesday
Youth 5:30 "All About Hands;" Thursday Youth "Sparring
Tips For Champions" 6:30 class and Saturday Advanced
Sparring for Youth at 12:30. The application of any technique

System
2. The "SET" - Show, Explain, Touch System of
Martial Arts Instruction
G. Adv Black Belt Karate Study beyond 3rd Degree
Involve an awareness of and proficiencies beyond 24 months
of experience in:
1. The principle of Flinch, Lock and Change Up
2. Center Attack Theory
3. The principle of Timing, Distance and Balance
4. Attitude and Intent in Strategy
5. Tactical Applications using circle and
straight line
6. Combinations
7. The Karate N Motion Class Management System
