Karate In Motion is committed to developing
high energy motivational games and activities to get kids moving
- while increasing stamina, metabolic rates, and over all motor
skill fitness. |
| Childhood Obesity Curriculum:
Objective: To offer a high energy, high activity curriculum that
uses Karate technique, cardio/aerobic activity, & agility
training to improve participant agility, metabolic stamina and
core strength.
Goal: To motivate and energize students in a work out designed
to improved motor skill ability.

Warm Up: Before Class Starts - 15 minutes
Examples include - Jog - Upon Entering students complete a mandatory
5 laps jog around the Dojo floor. 2 - laps - straight run - 2
laps backwards run and 1 lap of side "slide. Emphasize form;
knees high with arms rotating at shoulder.
Push Ups and Sit Ups - Immediately following the Jog, students
drop to the floor and perform 25 push ups and 25 sit ups.

Opening "Greet In" Ceremony - followed by
Phase 1 of the high energy curriculum. Class performs 3 of the following
drills, for 5 minutes each - (varying the "Cardio Blast"
options each to keep the class diverse and interesting.)

"Cardio BLAST" - Drop Down Drills - 15 minutes.

Wide Leg 3-point tap Drill -
Running In Place; Jumps Routine - with vocals |
Curriculum Choices - 20 minutes
Lead Leg Block, Stop, & Pop - with jump back & blitz
Two Beat Switch Routine - with Music
Blocking Kata -with Music Across The Floor Drills

Bag Work training - with Music Agility
