Alan Simms is a motivator who inspires, educates and encourages his audience to see the excelence that is within them. Alan is a speaker, writer, and publications editor by professional background. Alan ia also known as a Sensei -- a martial arts teacher of some reputation, who has been inducted into 4 Hall of Fames. In that capacity Alan has trained literally thousands of young people in the past 35 years that he has been a teacher, as well as many adults and law enforcement agents. He represents Karate schools in Essex and Union Counties in New Jersey. Alan, a stroke survivor, also has seminars for health care professionals and families titled: "The Road Back is All Uphill." Sharing with the audience his tips, tactics, and trial and error methods from his experience of returning to being the "You." He is CEO of a non-profit organization, Families In Motion. He established this organization to have a positive impact on obesity control in children and adults, and any related morbidity due to secondary lifestyles coupled with lack of proper nutrition and excercise.

Alan has been married for 30 years and is the father of 6 children. His message is "Excellence is a Decision, no matter what the situation, we have a choice, and in teh end we end up being the sums of things that we let touch us and the choices we have made.
