Target Your Side Kick with “Hip, Heel, Man”

The side kick with the “lead leg” - is to a Karate fighter, what a Jab is to a Boxer.
The Lead Leg Side Kick can be delivered in “one-beat-timing” from the floor to the target. It has more impact than the Lead Leg Roundhouse. It’s extremely effective as an offensive opening attack, and its defensive purpose is to stop the attacker from closing distance.

The Lead Leg Side Kick is an effect of “one beat timing” quick strike leg technique. However, to sight it with “Hip, Heel, Man” requires that you raise your thigh “waist high” and aim by looking down your side, past your hip and heel to the target. However, if you are stiff the Drop Knee Lead Leg Side Kick may be the technique for you.
Step 1: Fighting Stance
Step 2 : Hip Heel Man … Drop Knee
Step 3: Extended Kick
Step 4 : Back to Hip Heel Man
with Knee Dropped
Step 5: Back to Fighting Stance
